Permanent secretaries, deputies swear oaths
Dar es Salaam. President John Magufuli
swears in permanent secretaries and deputy
secretaries at the State House in Dar es
Salaam on Friday.
The event involved 29 permanent secretaries
and 21 deputy secretaries who were elected by
President Magufuli early this week.
In an effort by the fifth government to
promote humanitarianism, transparency and
accountability to its senior officials, the
executives signed the integrity pledge forms
soon after taking their oaths.
Speaking during the event, Prime Minister
Majaliwa Kassim Majaliwa said those who
will be elected to serve as directors, regional
commissioners and district commissioners
will also sign the forms.
He said those are government officials who
directly supervise the implementation of
development projects and therefore it was
important for them to sign the forms so as
ensure disbursed funds are used for the
public interests.
Chief secretary, Ombeni Sefue said the
executives were scheduled to attend a
workshop tomorrow where they are expected
to receive directives and guidelines on their
duties.
