Fever sign Pohlen, Wheeler to training camp deals



INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indiana Fever signed free agents
Jeanette Pohlen and Erica Wheeler to training camp
contracts Monday.

Pohlen, a 6-foot guard, was drafted by the Fever in 2011 and
has spent her entire career with Indiana.

Last season, she appeared in 26 regular-season games and six
playoff games including the decisive fifth game of the WNBA
Finals. She averaged 2.4 points.

Wheeler is a 5-7 point guard who graduated from Rutgers in
2013 and made her WNBA debut last summer. She played 17
games with the Atlanta Dream and finished the season with
the New York Liberty. She is currently playing in Brazil.

SYDNEY: Alone at a health clinic in a small, remote seaside settlement in Australia, a 44-year-old nurse sensed he was having a heart attack and sprang into action, saving his own life, a report said Wednesday. The man, whose name was withheld for privacy reasons, experienced severe chest pain and dizziness while he was the sole medical professional on duty at a nursing post in Coral Bay, more than 600 miles (1,000 kilometers) from Perth, the capital of Western Australia, said the account published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Zanzibar police say to escort voters in elections

Zanzibar. Police here have promised to escort those wishing to vote in tomorrow’s polls, if the need arises. Urban West Regional Police Commander Mkadam Khamis Mkadam told Kwetu blog on Saturday that security would be maintained. Police officers will be stationed inside polling stations and within 200 metres from the stations, he said. “There are a lot of threats. If anyone wants to vote and thinks his or her life is in danger, he or she can reach us and we will escort the person to the polling station and back home.
